Frequently Asked Questions
Will My Roof Replacement be fully covered?
How long will it take to know how much damage is covered?
What happens if my roof is not fully covered by insurance?
How much will I have to pay out of pocket?
If your insurance covers a new roof and you’re within your policy limits, you’ll only have to pay the deductible set by your insurance company. If you choose any upgrades, they may also come out of your pocket.
If your roof must be updated to meet code requirements but your insurance doesn’t cover it, we’ll discuss your options and let you know the costs before we start any work on your roof.
What are some common terms used in insurance?
- The Replacement cost (RCV) is the full cost of the repair/replacement that your insurance company deems needed to replace your roof.
- Depreciation (DEPREC) is the decrease in fair value of your roof due to age. Depending on your policy, this amount may or may not be recoverable. Depreciation is paid when incurred – in other words, after the roof is completed
- Deductible is the amount the insurance policies requires the policy holder to pay applicable to a claim made under a specific policy.
- The Actual Cash Value (ACV) is the amount is the value of your roof as it stands today. This is determined by taking the RCV and deducting the age and condition of the roof (the depreciation).
- Code Upgrades are items that may not have been a construction requirement before but are a requirement currently. Code Upgrades are paid when incurred. Not all policies include code upgrades and you may have to come out of pocket to pay for these items.

We have a large house and large roof. We had expert assistance and Nate Frisbie, the lead person on the job, was terrific. What he told us would happen is exactly what happened! They were in and out in just two days, left the area clean … More and we got a spectacular new roof. Thank you Nate and your team of professional roofers! Recommend them 5/5 stars!

Our experience with Apex roofing was great. After having signed with another contractor and waiting almost a year for them to get our project scheduled, we decided to switch to Apex.Fall was setting in and we wanted our roof done before … More the cold weather. Jeff, at Apex, was the supervisor/salesman for our project and was there from start to finish. He did a great job with communicating with us and dealing with things as they came up. Jeff was able to put together a crew and get started within a couple of weeks. All the guys were hard working and kept the work area clean at night. Thanks Jeff for your help and understanding our situation.

I worried about my roof for years, I talked to many roofers. It wasn't until I met Nate Frisbie at Apex Roofing, did it finally get done. He was so great to work with, and he instinctively seemed to understand if I was overwhelmed … More or confused. I'm a senior and always on the alert for people trying to take advantage. You can trust Apex Roofing. The crew worked like a well oiled machine. They worked fast and did a great job. After they left I looked for nails from the tear-off. None! They also gave the best estimate. I highly recommend Apex Roofing.

I did not set out to re-roof my home and shop last Fall. Jeff with Apex Roofing stopped by my house after doing an estimate for my neighbor. He offered to do a courtesy inspection of my roof since he was next door.Jeff found issues that … More I didn’t realize I had. He explained that the issues were from hail damage, which was a legitimate insurance claim. He assisted me in communicating with our claims adjustor and sent photos he had taken. When the insurance estimators came to my house to inspect the roof, Jeff was here to answer questions and support the claim. Communication with Jeff and Apex Roofing was easy. They started when they said they would, finished quickly, and cleaned up the site beyond my expectations. The price was just as they said it would be, no surprises. I was impressed with Jeff’s professionalism, confidence and knowledge. I highly recommend Apex Roofing, but the real star was their Project Manager, Jeff!
