Frequently Asked Questions
Will My Roof Replacement be fully covered?
How long will it take to know how much damage is covered?
What happens if my roof is not fully covered by insurance?
How much will I have to pay out of pocket?
If your insurance covers a new roof and you’re within your policy limits, you’ll only have to pay the deductible set by your insurance company. If you choose any upgrades, they may also come out of your pocket.
If your roof must be updated to meet code requirements but your insurance doesn’t cover it, we’ll discuss your options and let you know the costs before we start any work on your roof.
What are some common terms used in insurance?
- The Replacement cost (RCV) is the full cost of the repair/replacement that your insurance company deems needed to replace your roof.
- Depreciation (DEPREC) is the decrease in fair value of your roof due to age. Depending on your policy, this amount may or may not be recoverable. Depreciation is paid when incurred – in other words, after the roof is completed
- Deductible is the amount the insurance policies requires the policy holder to pay applicable to a claim made under a specific policy.
- The Actual Cash Value (ACV) is the amount is the value of your roof as it stands today. This is determined by taking the RCV and deducting the age and condition of the roof (the depreciation).
- Code Upgrades are items that may not have been a construction requirement before but are a requirement currently. Code Upgrades are paid when incurred. Not all policies include code upgrades and you may have to come out of pocket to pay for these items.

Our experience with Apex roofing was great. After having signed with another contractor and waiting almost a year for them to get our project scheduled, we decided to switch to Apex.Fall was setting in and we wanted our roof done before … More the cold weather. Jeff, at Apex, was the supervisor/salesman for our project and was there from start to finish. He did a great job with communicating with us and dealing with things as they came up. Jeff was able to put together a crew and get started within a couple of weeks. All the guys were hard working and kept the work area clean at night. Thanks Jeff for your help and understanding our situation. -

We contacted Buel with Apex Roofing and we had the best experience from start to finish! They were very efficient, kind, courteous, prompt and respectful of our property. I highly recommend Apex Roofing! Fast service, and great communication … More throughout the project. Please give Buel a call, and tell him I sent you. 🙂 -

Apex's 6-man crew replaced my 1,572-square-foot, 6:12-pitch roof in only 7-3/4 hours. They work FAST! They cleaned up all the scraps and nails efficiently and hauled everything away. I highly recommend them. -

Our reroofing experience with Apex Roofing could not have gone better. Our 1910 Spokane Craftsman home has a complex roof with many hips and valleys and complex venting issues. It had three previous layers and need to be completely resheeted. … More The Apex Roofing team did a SUPERB job in every way. Jeff Faulkner who oversaw the whole project is professional, explains everything so well, gives options, and is very knowledgeable about what is needed for a roofing project of the highest quality. He was able to give very helpful recommendations with no pressured upselling at all. He seems to take great joy in the customer getting a great product. The roofers themselves did work of the highest quality from set up to final clean up. They set up around our home so carefully, tarping as much as possible, protecting plants etc. with plywood and being very respectful and incredibly hard working. None of them were ever standing around. And their workmanship was excellent. I have roofed a number of homes myself and was extremely impressed by their level of skill. Every shingle course as straight as an arrow, everything flashed properly, venting installed where it would work the best, no exposed nail heads at all, no damage at all to the structure, etc, etc. Then they cleaned up so well, you would have hardly known we had just had our home entirely reroofed. And all that from start to finish in TWO DAYS! Our neighbors were absolutely astounded as were we! We sincerely cannot recommend Apex roofing and Jeff Faulkner highly enough. We are 110% satisfied customers. -

From the first moment of contact with Apex, I sensed the experience of working with them would be positive...and it was more positive than I expected. The initial contact, Kurtis (the sales rep) spoke openly and directly to me, outlining … More all the costs and possible extras. He took the time to look closely at the roof, at the leaks in the house and garage, and at the point where the garage met the house. Of the five bids I received, Apex wasn't the lowest, but in combining the cost and my comfort with the staff/professionalism, Apex was by far the best overall choice. We agreed on a date and time and roofers showed up as expected and began work immediately. Polite, hardworking folks. When the work was finished the team cleaned up, and the sales agent came by to conduct an additional cleaning. Final payment wasn't expected until I was completely pleased with the work (what a NICE feeling that a company wants me to be completely pleased with the work!). My roof looks better than it did new! It was a pleasure to work with Apex Roofing.
